ASALH BUSINESS MEETINGS
Founders of Black History Month
Participate in our new Branch Meeting Format
This year we have planned a number of sessions which will comprise our
Branch Workshop.  All Leadership and Members of Branches, Organizing
Groups, and those interested in hearing more about branches are invited to
attend.
Annual ASALH Membership Meeting
All members are invited to attend our Annual Membership Meeting which
will be held on:
Friday, September 30th from 9pm - 10:30pm
in the Marriott State Ballroom A&B immediately following the 95th
Anniversary Reception. Please come to meet our elected officers and
Executive Council Members and to get important updates on ASALH as we
plan for the future.
Meeting of the ASALH Executive Council
September 29, 2010
9am - 5pm
Location TBD. Please make certain that your branch is represented.  

This is a very important session for all members of branches and ASALH members who
are interested in forming a branch. Come to hear and exchange information that will
strengthen ASALH though our branches. All branches will make a short presentation on
their activities during the past year. Dr. Janet Sims-Wood, National Vice President for
Membership, presiding.
Thursday
2pm-3:50pm – Keeping Your Branch Compliant
This session will focus on the importance of ASALH reporting documents and
an important dialog to branch leaders on maintaining a branch that is in
compliance with our 501 ( c ) 3 status.

Friday
8:30am-10am – Branch Reports (3 minutes per branch)
10am-10:45am – Meeting with ASALH Leadership
Branch Presidents, Officers and Members are invited to meet with the elected
officers of ASALH to here an important update on where we are.  There will be
a presentation from the Development Committee.
10:45am-11:50am – Branch Reports (continued)

2:00pm-3:50pm – Branch Awards Presentation
All members and friends of ASALH are invited to applaud our branches for their
committed work to promote the name of ASALH across the nation.

Saturday
8:30am-9:50am – How to Start a Branch
All members and friends of ASALH are invited to a presentation on what it takes
to start or re-charter a branch. The ASALH vision includes supporting strong
branches all over the country. Come and hear what is involved to have a
branch in your area.
