The Measure of an Institution
$10 Donation to General Operating Fund
...is its ability to weather storms.  Be it
financial crises, bad leadership, natural
disasters, all institutions must weather them
or meet their demise.  And when they die,
there are no headstones, no afterlife; they are
simply gone.

ASALH Perseveres
$50 Donation to General Operating Fund
As an organization dedicated to history,
ASALH knows this very well.  During
Woodson's day, ASALH experienced
storms--the Great Depression took its toll and
philanthropists designed to steer ASALH from
its mission.  But Woodson and ASALH
persevered through it all.  In the fifty-five
years after the death of the Father of Black
History, ASALH has weathered many storms,
and it still stands tall and venerable--the
oldest, living Black learned society in the
world!!!  Give to the General Fund and help to
keep the Woodson legacy alive and thriving.

The Vital Organ
The General Operating Fund is crucial to
ASALH.  It's the vital organ.  It pays office and
staffing expenses. Through the graciousness of
Howard University, we are presently their
campus guest.  Our staff is comprised of
professionals, paid student interns, and
volunteers who sacrifice because they believe
in the mission of ASALH.  Your contribution to
the general fund will help to insure that the
day-to-day work continues and improves.

Copies of Carter G. Woodson's Appeal will be available at the 2008
Convention
Authors' Book Signing for those who make a tax-deductible
donation of $250 or more to ASALH.  Lost for over eighty years, this
stinging critique of white racism and defense of the black race was
undoubtedly too caustic for white society to publish.  But now you can
own a leather-bound, numbered, signed, and authenticated copy for
yourself!  Signed by the editor, Dr. Daryl Michael Scott, this
special
edition will be a treasured addition to any library and a family keepsake
for generations.
Please contact ASALH at 202-865-0053 to make your
donation.

On July 29, 2008 our beloved Executive Council member Walter Hill passed away. The Hill Family has asked that
in lieu of flowers, donations be made to ASALH. If you would like to make a donation in memory of Walter Hill,
please click the General Operations Fund link below.  There will be an area for notes in the payment section.
Enter 'In memory of Walter Hill" in that section. If you have any questions e-mail us at info@asalh.net or call
